so... (sorry steph pond) but Halloween is so not my favorite holiday... BUT I made a valiant effort to go out and enjoy it this year & I did have fun!
Billy was "recyclable"
Zane was that guy, from the big lebowski... i think that's what he said.

Courtney was a
rockstar
Ben

The Joker was some guy named Ryan who wanted to take a picture with me.
Andiee was a "chinese hooker"
Tara & Heather were Venus and Serena Williams.
the repeat 1 am party
tonight at work we had a repeat 1 am party because we are working on daylight savings... boo for daylight savings. we had our party early because nate was nice and ordered cheesey breadsticks from the pi and they were hot. i feel like it's 5 am already and it is only the first 1 am...
i'm copying corinne though and going to start blogging more frequently, but only in the sense that i'm going to do a thankful post... three a day or three whenever i remember to sign onto the blog.
1. i'm thankful for having part of the day off on Thursday and being able to experience this amazing Indian Summer.
2. Scout, she killed a spider for me yesterday (maybe friday) morning. and I bravily picked it up with a tissue so she didn't eat the whole thing.
3. red fingernail polish.

it is currently 0451
and i think i'm delirious....
yay for starbucks hot chocolate, made with steamed milk and hershy's syrup. It isn't creamy and milk chocolatey it's slightly bitter and makes me think i'm drinking some yummy melted dark chocolate. hmmm idea on making hot chocolate: dark chocolate bunny the easter bunny gave me and milk... you think i would need anything else?
i keep thinking that the night should've been over almost three hours ago, but it was only 0218.
i can't wait to go home and see Scout. she's the cutest and greatest dog ever. she makes me happy, i get excited to go home and see how excited she gets when she sees me. when Dave brings her home from my parents he tells me how she runs right downstairs to my door and sits there. when it's time for bed she jumps up on her hind legs and has her front legs extended on my bed to try and get up. apparently she likes sleeping on my bed and i like having her there, she's so amazing. okay so blogging about her probably not the best idea because i will be here at work for another 2.5 hours.... i am glad i wore my puffy coat to work last night, because i'm pretty sure tomorrow is supposed to be freezing.

Puppies make my heart happy
We got to pick up our puppies on the 13th of August. My parents ended up getting the two puppies they were trying to choose between! This is my little girl, I decided to name her Scout after watching her play with two of her brothers that my parents bought.

This is the one we've called Bear on the car ride home.
This is Oliver and Scout playing in the back yard around a flower pot.

This is Oliver.
Bear, Scout, and Oliver.
Oliver, Bear, & Scout.
I was trying to get a shot of all three of them drinking from this water bowl but Bear and Oliver were not cooperating.
Bear is a little shy.
Scout likes to sleep in my lap.

SPECTACULAR SPECTACULAR....

Guys great news, I'm getting a puppy. My mom is as well, well she might get two... here are some photos of the babes. We get to bring them home when they're 8 weeks old, or in other words, the middle of August. Oh and any name suggestions for mine would be greatly appreciated, I'm lacking in the creativity department (mine is a girl). The first two photos are of my puppy. The next is a shot of the 5 we had to choose from. The last two are the two my mom is trying to decide between or on. I vote for the darker one, he's super cute and we've already got a name for him... Bear (his markings on his face look like a bears and he's super cute too). Hope you're all doing well!

Hailey Ann this one is for you!
So... I do know I suck at this blogging thing but since my mind is on the subject of my lack of blogging I will let you all know, Hailey put me up to this. The other night as I was leaving work I checked my voicemail and heard a message from her telling me she hadn't heard from me in ages and that I hadn't updated my blog in a long time so she needed me to update her. I just checked my messages again tonight and realized I hadn't called her back... yes I'm quite forgetful as of lately. My mind is elsewhere, it's preoccupied with thinking I've forgotten to do something at work, or chart on a patient, or pass a message along to the oncoming shift. I'm hoping I will soon feel more like Heather and less consumed by the thoughts of work. Don't get me wrong I love my job, it's pretty much the greatest job ever! For those of you who don't know I work at the University of Utah Hospital on the labor and delivery unit. It rocks! The unit deals with a lot of high risk pregnancies. Not a day goes by where I don't learn something new. The women I work with are great, they're all willing to teach me and answer my questions or help me do my assessment if I feel like I need a second opinion. Aside from the male doctors our unit is the only all female staffed (nurses) unit in the hospital. Kinda crazy huh!? It's not that we don't hire men, it's just that they don't apply. Labor and delivery seems to have some of the old fashioned "women are nurses and men are doctors" vibe to it, although more women are leaning towards obgyn practice than men these days. I have seen some of the most amazing miracles happen at work, I have seen some sad situations as well but the good outweighs the bad and I really love where I work. I started in the beginning of June and am still orienting, which I am very grateful for because I still have so much to learn!
I don't know if I have much else to say, I'm tired. My brain literally just shut off just now. I cannot think of anything else to say except that I am happy I am busy and my life is great. I am sorry for being a space cadet these past few years school and now work seem to take my brain to its limit. Oh and Hailey I was going to call you back tonight when I listened to your message but I looked at the clock and hoped you were getting some sleep. You've got to beautiful baby girls keeping you busy and awake and I sure didn't want to wake you up if you were sleeping. I hope you all are doing well and I really think we girls need to get together. We say we're going to do it but we never do. I am a slacker at the whole planning thing so maybe this will motivate someone to plan a day to get dinner or lunch and catch up because I miss you guys and I really want to hear about your lives and what not.
Oh yeah, I passed my NCLEX (state nursing boards) so I am a legit nurse which is pretty exciting. I found out on the 4th of July and was pretty much ecstatic.
Oh and one last thing, thanks to everyone for your congratulations on my graduating! You all are amazing :)

It's official, I am a college graduate!!!! YAY:)
These are some of the friends I made at school. We had our class picture taken on May 29, 2008 and afterward we all took our own pictures.
This is Stacy, I'll be working with her at the University hospital on the Labor and Delivery unit. She's great.

This is my friend Cheryl. She and I have been friends pretty much since the beginning of the nursing program.
This is my friend Kate. She's pretty much amazing! Babies in the NICU at St. Mark's will be in good hands with her.
Courtney has been such a great friend throughout this program. She helped me calm down when I was flipping out about assignments. She also helped keep me sane by bringing me back into the social world after I would climb into a hole for a while as I studied, read, or worked on papers.
Sue & Kate were my two "first" friends in the program. I sat between them on the first day of class and am so glad I made a great seat choice that day.

Most of my family came to the actual graduation. Good thing Westminster is a small college and had 673 graduates (including all the those receiving their Masters). My parents; oldest sister Sara & her youngest Luke; Mary and her two children, Claire & Luke; my brother David; my sister Deborah & her husband Alex all came to cheer me on when they called my name. Thanks everyone for sitting through the 2.5 hour graduation.
Thank you Mom and Dad for EVERYTHING!!!! I definitely would never have made it through school without you guys. I love you!
